Pedro Obiang’s transfer from West Ham to Sassuolo has been confirmed.

The Hammers announced the move via the club’s official website, wishing Obiang well for the future.

West Ham signed Obiang in 2015 from Sampdoria where he made just under 100 Serie A appearances.

He did not quite crack 100 league appearances for West Ham in the following four seasons either, 91 in total. Cup games lifted his Hammers numbers to 116.

Last season Obiang played in 24 Premier League games, but only 12 were as a starter.

Now he has taken the opportunity to return to Italy where he hopes to play more regularly.
