Marko Arnautovic managed to impress a number of West Ham United fans during their defeat to Watford.
Marko Arnautovic
For anyone who has followed West Ham this season but did not manage to watch their 2-0 defeat to Watford on Sunday, they would have been forgiven for looking at the teamsheet and assuming that it was another hugely disappointing afternoon for Marko Arnautovic.
Arnautovic has more red cards since making his move to the London Stadium from Stoke City in the summer than he has goals and assists combined – he is yet to score or set up a teammate for a goal, in case you were wondering.

Hammers supporters who felt ready to give up on the Austrian ever vindicating the club’s decision to sign him in the summer would have surely felt that David Moyes’ appointment would have to be a catalyst for the forward if he was ever going to change people’s minds.
And while Moyes’ first game in the dugout ended in a defeat to the Hornets and Arnautovic suffered a nasty looking injury in the latter stages of the contest, there were some signs that just hinted that Arnautovic may be able to turn a corner with the Irons.

The 28-year-old looked more lively while he was on the pitch than he perhaps has ever done since joining the club, and was only denied the chance to open his account for West Ham by a stunning double save from Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes – though he should have still done better with the chances.
Interestingly, Arnautovic’s performance has still attracted a mixed response on social media, with a number of fans clearly still not won over by the summer signing – but the general response is certainly going in the right direction for the winger as he also attracted plenty of praise for his performance.
Here is the best of the reaction…
