West Ham United suffered a disappointing defeat against their Premier League rivals, but Marko Arnautovic received a lot of praise on social media.

It was a hugely disappointing afternoon for David Moyes and West Ham on Saturday as they lost against a Newcastle side that had not won a game in over two months before their trip to the London Stadium – but one Hammers star did receive praise from the fans on Twitter.
It had appeared that the Irons may be in line for another positive result as they took the lead inside six minutes thanks to Marko Arnautovic, who continues to look a completely different player since Moyes’ appointment.

However, Rafa Benitez’s men turned the game on its head as Henri Saivet – who had accidentally played a crucial role in West Ham’s opener – equalised four minutes after the deadlock was broken, before Mohamed Diame and Christian Atsu put the visitors 3-1 up shortly after the hour mark.
Andre Ayew – who had missed a penalty when the score was 2-1 – brought the home side back into the game with just over 20 minutes to go, but an equaliser proved elusive, and West Ham now find themselves just one place and one point above the bottom three in the Premier League.
It was certainly a difficult afternoon for West Ham fans, especially given some of the fine results that they have secured in recent times, but one player gave the supporters something to smile about, once again.
Arnautovic put in another impressive performance for the Irons. As well as scoring the opener, he generally looked like the player who was particularly determined to bring his team back into the game, tirelessly working and putting some of his teammates to shame. And the supporters were pleased with what they saw from the former Stoke City man.
