West Ham United lost 2-0 at home to Manchester United on Monday afternoon.
West Ham United slumped to a second successive Premier League defeat as they lost 2-0 at home to Manchester United on Monday evening.
The Hammers were beaten 1-0 away at Leicester City over the weekend, and were hoping to bounce back with a home win over Manchester United.

However, their hopes were dealt a huge blow after just 15 minutes, as winger Sofiane Feghouli was controversially given a straight red card following a 50/50 challenge with United defender Phil Jones.
Jose Mourinho’s men took their time to take advantage, but took a second half lead when Juan Mata converted Marcus Rashford’s pull back, but more controversy came when Zlatan Ibrahimovic slammed home a second despite being offside.
West Ham United’s Manuel Lanzini
West Ham fans will have felt hard done by after the final whistle, but did find something to shout about – the performance of playmaker Manuel Lanzini.
The Argentinian hasn’t quite hit the heights of last season since making his loan move permanent over the summer, but he was back to his best against Manchester United with a superb display.
During and after the game, West Ham fans took to Twitter to suggest that Lanzini was ‘quality’ and ‘absolutely brilliant’, as he was a constant threat to the United defence, testing goalkeeper David De Gea and also setting up Michail Antonio for a chance with an outstanding pass.
Others even claimed that Lanzini is better than West Ham’s star player Dimitri Payet, and would be more of a loss to the club than the Frenchman; huge praise for the 23-year-old midfielder.
