Could the Manchester United ace be heading to West Ham United?

According to a report from El Confidencial, West Ham United are plotting a sensational summer swoop for Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata.
The 28-year-old might well find himself surplus to requirements at Old Trafford following the arrival of manager Jose Mourinho, who sold him to the Red Devils during his second stint with Chelsea in 2014.
If true, the Spaniard would surely smash the Hammers’ transfer record – currently held by Andy Carroll following a £15 million switch from Liverpool – and would indicate that the Irons are certainly a club on the rise under Slaven Bilic.

These are exciting times for the East London club, who bid farewell to Upton Park this past season as life in their new home of the Olympic Stadium awaits next term.
Bilic’s side will also have Europa League football to look forward to, providing they do what they failed to achieve last summer and qualify for Europe’s secondary competition.
The likes of Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini have already made West Ham a much more attractive proposition for their transfer targets, given how well the pair did in their maiden stint in English football last time around.
And suffice to say West Ham fans aren’t against the idea of welcoming Mata to the capital.
