West Ham fans react on Twitter to Jonathan Bamba reports

West Ham United reportedly want to sign Jonathan Bamba on a pre-contract basis ahead of the summer.

West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to react to the reports coming out of The Sun over the weekend which suggested that the Hammers are looking to try and pull off a pre-contract deal for Jonathan Bamba.

Bamba has enjoyed an encouraging season in Ligue 1 with Saint-Etienne, scoring six times in the top flight while also contributing four assists for the mid-table side.

The Sun reports that the 21-year-old is out of contract with Les Verts at the end of the season, and it is West Ham that are looking most likely to bag his signature on a pre-contract basis.

Given how well Bamba has performed in the French top flight this term, it appears that it may be something of a coup for the Hammers if they managed to pull off a deal – though you would imagine that securing their Premier League place for next season will have to be ticked off their to-do list before they get a move for Bamba across the line.

The news has attracted a fairly mixed reaction amongst the Irons fans on social media. While some of the West Ham fans believe that the board should be setting their sights higher than targeting a youngster on a free transfer, others are excited about the links.

Bamba appears to have a significant amount of potential, and it seems that some of the fans believe that it would be a really smart piece of business from the club if they managed to get the move done.
