West Ham United are reportedly keen on Tottenham Hotspur’s Fernando Llorente.
West Ham United are likely to be active in the summer transfer window, and Manuel Pellegrini will surely overhaul his striking options.
The Hammers look set to release Andy Carroll this summer, whilst Lucas Perez will move on and both Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic have been linked away.
That may mean that West Ham will need to sign two, three or possibly even four strikers, which may stretch Pellegrini’s budget, especially with other players needed too.
Another target man would be a smart addition given Carroll’s imminent exit, and The Sun report that West Ham hold an interest in Tottenham Hotspur’s Fernando Llorente.
Llorente, 34, has chipped in with eight goals this season after a tricky first term with Tottenham, becoming important in 2019 with Harry Kane enduring injury woes.
The Spaniard is out of contract at the end of the season though, and after Spurs missed a deadline to activate an extension clause in his deal, Llorente could walk away in a matter of weeks.
West Ham seemingly want him as a cheap option to bring in once Carroll has moved on, but it’s fair to say that Hammers fans won’t seem overly impressed.
Hammers supporters feel that Llorente is too old to make an impact now, noting that he makes Carroll look quick, admitting that they don’t rate Llorente and don’t think he is the goalscorer West Ham need, praying that the rumour isn’t true.
