West Ham United could reportedly hand Diafra Sakho a new contract.
Diafra Sakho will remain at West Ham United for the 2017-18 season and could even be offered a new deal.
Sakho joined West Ham from Spanish club Metz in the summer of 2014 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £3.5 million.
The Senegal international striker has not had the greatest of time at the Hammers and has also suffered with injuries.
The 27-year-old’s current contract with West Ham runs until June 2018, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk, but the striker could stay at the London Stadium beyond that.
According to Sky Sports, West Ham could hand Sakho a new contract even after he tried to orchestrate a move away from the Premier League club on transfer deadline day.
It has been reported that Sakho passed a medical and agreed personal terms with French club Rennes on Wednesday without the knowledge of West Ham.
On transfer deadline day, the striker reportedly held a meeting with West Ham officials and said that he wanted to leave due to personal problems.
Following the meeting, according to Sky Sports, not only was it decided that Sakho will remain at West Ham, but the striker could also be awarded a new contract.
