Carlos Tevez was Juventus’ match-winner against Real Madrid on Tuesday.

Carlos Tevez was the hero for Juventus as the Italians won 2-1 against Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.

The Argentine striker, 31, had a big part in the first goal as his low shot was saved by Iker Casillas, only for strike partner Alvaro Morata to tap home the rebound from close range.

After Cristiano Ronaldo equalised for Real Madrid, Tevez won the game for Juventus, driving at the heart of the defence before being tripped by Dani Carvajal, and Tevez stepped up to the score from the spot and hand Juventus a vital first-leg win.

That was Tevez’ 29th goal of the season in all competitions, proving that despite his advancing years, he is still one of the most underrated strikers in world football.

Having turned out for Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus, Tevez has had a great career at the top of European football – so it’s easy to forget his one season with West Ham United.

Tevez joined West Ham after the 2006 World Cup, and whilst he made a slow start to life at Upton Park, he did eventually score seven goals in 29 games to keep the Hammers in the Premier League.

With Tevez once again starring, West Ham fans took to Twitter to discuss his performance, with many praying that Tevez would eventually return to play for West Ham, whilst also adding that they would love to see him win the Champions League this season.
