West Ham striker Antonio Martinez scored a hat-trick for the under-23 side.
West Ham’s summer buys have not worked out well at all so far, but one low key addition could turn out to be a masterstroke.
Teenager Antonio Martinez signed from Valencia in the summer and has been scoring for fun for the under-23 side.
He continued this last night by scoring a hat-trick in a 4-0 win over Wolves, confirming his outstanding potential.
Martinez’s first goal was a penalty, while the others came in each half from open play with Jamie Kemp netting the other.
The hat-trick takes Martinez’s tally to the season to 11 goals, and there is real reason for fans to be excited about the 18-year-old.
He is the same age as Marcus Rashford was when he made a memorable impact in Manchester United’s first team last season, and Hammers fans are clamouring for Slaven Bilic to call him up to solve their own striking dilemma.
