Adrian arguably put in his first below-par performance since returning to the West Ham United side.

West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to criticise the performance of goalkeeper Adrian during their hugely disappointing defeat to Newcastle on Saturday that has left David Moyes’ men just ahead of the bottom three in the Premier League.
Adrian had gone into the game with the Magpies off the back of an impressive run of form which had seen the Spaniard relegate Joe Hart to the understudy role at the London Stadium.

He had kept three clean sheets in four league appearances, including in the win over Chelsea and stalemate with Arsenal – but Newcastle ensured that it is going to be a much more underwhelming Christmas for the Irons as they came away from the capital with a 3-2 win on Saturday.
It was certainly Adrian’s weakest performance since he was brought back into the fold, and that did not escape the attention of a number of supporters who took to social media after the game to comment on the 30-year-old’s display.

Some felt that he should have done better with Newcastle’s first goal, which came when Henri Saivet’s long-range free kick found the bottom corner to cancel out Marko Arnautovic’s opener for the home side.
And generally, there were a number of fans who felt that the display was not up to scratch and provided a reminder of why Adrian has struggled to establish himself as the number one over a sustained period in the last couple of seasons.
Here is the best of the reaction…
