Fulham’s Tom Cairney attended West Ham United’s 1-1 draw at Chelsea.
West Ham United picked up a credible 1-1 draw away at Chelsea on Sunday evening, boosting their chances of Premier League survival under David Moyes.
The Hammers were looking to pile on misery for Chelsea given their dismal 2018, and Javier Hernandez once again popped up to haunt the Blues, scoring the equaliser for the Hammers after Cesar Azpilicueta’s opener.
The result takes West Ham another step closer to survival, as Moyes’ men now sit six points clear of the bottom three, and can start formulating plans for next season in the Premier League.
The Mirror recently reported that the Hammers are interested in signing Fulham playmaker Tom Cairney, having failed with an £18million January move for the Scotland international, with a £20million asking price on his head if Fulham don’t win promotion back to the Premier League.
Cairney has again impressed this season having hit four goals and five assists, and Moyes may now look to lure his compatriot to the London Stadium in a bid to boost his squad next season.
Intriguingly, Cairney was spotted in the crowd at West Ham’s draw with Chelsea, as he was seated behind Hammers boss David Moyes – but he played down talk of a move, and The Express claim Cairney was simply watching the game as it was nearby to his Fulham base, and him being seated behind Moyes was merely a coincidence.
West Ham fans aren’t quite convinced with the coincidence line though, believing that a deal may be done already ahead of the summer, with fans excited about his potential arrival.
