West Ham United fans have been reacting on Twitter after a report suggested that Burnley are keen on signing James Collins this summer.

A number of West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports that emerged from The Sun over the weekend which suggested that James Collins is being lined up for a potential move to Burnley this summer.

Collins is a free agent right now after his second spell with the Hammers came to an end at the end of last season. There were emotional scenes on the final day against Everton when Collins got to say goodbye at the London Stadium after making over 200 appearances for the club across two spells.

But it appears that he may still be playing Premier League football next term. The Sun has reported that the Clarets are looking to agree a one-year deal with the former Wales international with plenty of uncertainty surrounding Ben Mee’s future at Turf Moor.

Unsurprisingly, the reports have prompted plenty of discussion amongst the West Ham fans on social media. There were several who believed that he could have still had a role to play under Manuel Pellegrini for the coming campaign, even if he was not a regular starter.

But it says a lot about the regard that he is held in that there were plenty of Hammers supporters who insisted that they would be delighted to see Collins join Sean Dyche’s side this summer.

Burnley are preparing for a Europa League campaign during this window, and many feel that Collins has earned the opportunity to perhaps play in a couple of European games. The fact that he would be playing for his third club that play in claret and blue has also not escaped the fans’ attention.
