Champions League side Schalke have made a surprise bid for the West Ham star.

German side Schalke have reportedly tabled a bid to lure West Ham United striker Lucas Perez to the Bundesliga before Thursday’s deadline – and Hammers fans are keen to see the back of the Spaniard.
BBC Sport claim that Schalke, who remain in the Champions League and face Manchester City in the last 16 on February 20, have made a loan-to-buy offer to sign Perez.
The 30-year-old only joined West Ham last summer from London rivals Arsenal for a fee of £4million (BBC Sport), but has somewhat struggled since his move.
He has netted five times in 14 league and cup appearances, but only two of those have come in the Premier League. He remains behind the likes of Marko Arnautovic, Michail Antonio, Andy Carroll and Javier Hernandez.

Schalke are struggling in the league this season, sitting in a lowly 12th place but it is a different story in the Champions League. They progressed into the knockout round through a group of Galatasaray, FC Porto and Lokomotiv Moscow.
Perez could now be in the side to face Manchester City in three weeks’ time, and West Ham fans are desperate to see the £80,000-a-week striker (Spotrac) wave goodbye to the London Stadium and jet off to Germany.
