It is claimed that West Ham United could make an offer for Drinkwater if the midfielder decides to leave Chelsea.

West Ham United fans are reacting on Twitter to reports crediting their side with interest in Chelsea’s Danny Drinkwater.

The Telegraph reports that Drinkwater is weighing up his future at Stamford Bridge, less than a year since his £35 million transfer from Leicester City.

The newspaper adds the 28-year-old will not be short of offers should he decide to leave the Blues, with West Ham likely to react – although Chelsea’s valuation of the player could prove a stumbling block.

Drinkwater, it is claimed, would find a move across London appealing, as he would not have to move house for the second time in 12 months.

But do those of a West Ham persuasion agree? Here’s what they’re saying…

Drinkwater’s position, central midfield, is one in which West Ham are expected to strengthen this summer, should they maintain their Premier League status.

Were the former Manchester United trainee – a title winner with Leicester two years ago – to arrive at the London Stadium this summer, he could serve as a replacement for Joao Mario, whose loan from Inter Milan is expiring.

Would Drinkwater be a good signing for West Ham United?
