Captain Noble could now finish his career at West Ham.

West Ham United have activated the extension clause in Mark Noble’s contract that adds another year on top of his previous deal, meaning he is now contracted to the Hammers until the summer of 2021 – but some fans aren’t impressed.
The 31-year-old has been pivotal in West Ham’s turnaround in form of late, featuring in all but five minutes of the wins over Newcastle United, Cardiff City and Crystal Palace which now sees the Hammers sit in eleventh place.
Now just four appearances short of reaching an enormous 450 league and cup outings for the east Londoners, Noble wil remain with the Hammers for another two and a half years – and could even go beyond that.
Noble told West Ham’s official website: “I’ve been at this club all my life – I’ve always said I wanted to be at this club and I think we’re moving in the right direction, so it was the right time to do it.”
Spotrac claim that Noble is earning just £50,000 a week at West Ham, £90,000 less than top earner Javier Hernandez despite being affiliated with the club for 17 years – and making his debut way back in October 2004 under Alan Pardew.
However, he has put pen to paper on a deal that keeps him with the club he was produced by, and is expected to remain one of the first names on the team sheet under manager Manuel Pellegrini.
But West Ham fans have delivered a somewhat mixed response on Twitter to the news. Some fans claim he has deserved the extension, while others believe it is time for something new. One supporter described Noble as “dead wood”.
