West Ham United have reportedly had a bid rejected for Fulham captain Tom Cairney as they look to test the newly-promoted Premier League side Fulham’s resolve over their star player – and Hammers fans have reacted on Twitter.

Indeed, Cairney was a target for David Moyes in the previous transfer window, and the Hammers remain interested in the former Hull City and Leeds United playmaker despite changing their manager.

Last season, Cairney had a hand in 11 goals during his 37 league and cup appearances – scoring six and creating five. He scored the winner in the Championship play-off final against Aston Villa.
