West Ham are in need of a central midfielder, with the window closing on Thursday night.

West Ham United are reportedly in talks to land Sheffield United midfielder John Fleck and finally patch up a hole in Manuel Pellegrini’s side – and Hammers fans have reacted in a fairly positive manner.
Sky Sports claim the Hammers are in talks to land the uncapped Scotsman for just £4million from Sheffield United, who have been excellent this season under Chris Wilder in the Championship.
Fleck has missed just one of Sheffield United’s 29 league games, helping the Blades rise up the table to third place. Fleck’s dogged determination and excellent work rate provides the Blades with a blanket over their defence.
West Ham are in desperate need of a midfielder, with Carlos Sanchez, Jack Wilshere and Manuel Lanzini all out injured. Pedro Obiang’s display on Saturday evening left a lot to be desired, as AFC Wimbledon earned a 4-2 win.

Fleck, meanwhile, helped Sheffield United remain in the hunt for automatic promotion from the Championship by holding second-placed Norwich City to a 2-2 draw at Carrow Road – churning out another excellent display.
West Ham fans reacted to the news that Pellegrini was looking to lure the former Rangers, Coventry City and Blackpool man to the London Stadium before Thursday’s deadline, and the majority are excited.
