The Hammers have reportedly opened talks to sign Bernard on a free.

West Ham United have reportedly opened talks to sign Brazilian playmaker Bernard for nothing, after he was released by Ukranian giants Shakhtar Donetsk – and fans have reacted with pure delight.
Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla has claimed on his website that the Hammers are keen on signing the 25-year-old, who had interested Manuel Pellegrini during the Argentine’s time in charge of Chinese Super League club Hebei China Fortune.

Talks remains between the Hammers and Lazio for a deal to sign Felipe Anderson, but the Hammers could now be set to bring in two Brazilian stars with talks over a deal for Bernard also in the offing.
A 15-time Brazil international, Bernard remains to be one of the world’s best playmakers yet to try his luck in one of Europe’s biggest leagues. He enjoyed arguably his best season during 17-18, scoring 10 and laying on four goals.

But Shakhtar failed to renew his deal with the Brazilian keen to leave the Ukranian champions, and now a move to West Ham could occur – to the delight of Hammers fans.
Indeed, West Ham fans have encouraged their club to complete a deal for the set-piece specialist – especially after technician Manuel Lanzini suffered a long-term knee injury.
