West Ham reportedly made an offer for the playmaker earlier this week.

West Ham have been reportedly rejected by Brazilian playmaker Bernard after the star’s contract ended at Ukraine champions Shakhtar Donetsk this summer – and Hammers fans are fuming.
Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla claimed on his website that the 25-year-old had turned down a move to West Ham and is now contemplating a move to the Chinese Super League.

Pedulla carried the initial report as an exclusive, stating that West Ham had made an offer to land the 15-time Brazil international on a free. He claimed that Manuel Pellegrini was trying to sign the pocket-sized star for a second time.

That is because the former Manchester City manager attempted to lure Bernard to China during his spell in charge of CSL side China Hebei Fortune, but a move failed to materialise.

Now, Pellegrini has been rejected a second time by Bernard, who could now rub salt into the wound by moving to China – something which Pellegrini failed to tempt the star into doing.
It remains to be seen if the Hammers will up their bid for Bernard, while talks are said to be ongoing between West Ham and Lazio over a fee for Bernard’s fellow countryman Felipe Anderson.
West Ham fans reacted to the news that Bernard had reportedly rejected a move to east London, with some criticising the playmaker for lacking ambition.
