A group of West Ham United fans have issued an update over plans to stage a protest march following a meeting with the club’s owners.

Large sections of West Ham fans are not happy with David Sullivan, David Gold and vice-chairman Karren Brady over what they feel are broken promises since the club’s move to the former Olympic Stadium.

The Hammers have endured another turbulent season and despite turning a corner under David Moyes they are not quite out of the woods just yet.

The Hammers beat Watford 2-0 last time out to move onto 30 points, a remarkable turnaround given the East Londoners sat in the relegation zone with just nine points when Moyes took over in November.

But a second season of disappointments on and off the pitch has taken its toll on West Ham’s loyal supporters, 52,000 of whom purchased season tickets at their new London Stadium home for a second season running – behind only Manchester United.

In fact supporters have grown so fed up they have come together to arrange a protest march ahead of the Burnley game on March 10th calling for change.

That prompted the owners to meet with the group known as Real West Ham Fans to try and talk through the issues.

Many felt talks, held earlier this week, may lead to the protest march being shelved.

But in a comprehensive update on the meeting, which saw Brady but neither Sullivan – who was ill – nor Gold attend, the group has revealed it intends to go ahead with the march.

“Following today’s meeting which David Gold and David Sullivan failed to attend, we put various points across to Karren Brady,” Real West Ham Fans Group said on Twitter.

“We are awaiting the club’s response. However we feel as group committees we must still march as planned on the 10th March.”
