West Ham United have been linked with a move for Swansea City duo Alfie Mawson and Lukas Fabianski but fans aren’t convinced.

West Ham remain in talks with Swansea over deals to sign defender Mawson and goalkeeper Fabianski, according to Sky Sports.

The Swans have already rejected bids from West Ham for both players according to Sky Sports, but it is understood both parties are edging closer to an agreement over the respective fees.

The report states negotiations between the West Ham and Swansea centre around the structure of the payments in both deals.

The Hammers announced the appointment of Director of Football Mario Husillos this week who will link up with new boss Manuel Pellegrini again following their hugely successful time together at Spanish side Malaga.

The former coach of Manchester City, Chilean Manuel Pellegrini (L), arrives for the draw of the Copa Sudamericana football tournament, in Santiago, on July 12, 2016.

The duo will be backed by unprecedented spending from West Ham co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold, as reported by talkSPORT.

Husillos’ appointment comes as Sullivan – who usually takes a lead on all West Ham transfer business – plans to step back from the club’s much criticised recruitment process.

And Pellegrini has been linked with some top European talent including Barcelona duo Rafinha and Marlon Santos, Lazio star Felipe Anderson, Nice midfielder Jean Micheal Seri, France U23 captain Issa Diop and German World Cup winner Mario Gotze.

So West Ham fans are finding it hard to believe Pellegrini and Husillos are targeting relegated duo Mawson and Fabianski as part of their Hammers revolution with many taking to Twitter to vent their frustrations.
