For once West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has a nice selection dilemma ahead of the crunch clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The Hammers boss and the club’s fans are all too used to losing key players to injury over the last couple of seasons.
Indeed most of Bilic’s team selections over the last season or so have been easy as the Croatian is more often than not shorn of some of his top performers in key positions.
But for once he faces something of a selection dilemma for the visit of Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs on Saturday over who to play at left-back.
Rewind to this time last year and this simply wasn’t a debate.
Aaron Cresswell was injured at the time but Hammers fans were counting down the days to his return so poor were the performances of new signing Arthur Masuaku.
The DR Congo international actually enjoyed an impressive debut against would-be champions Chelsea.
But over the course of the season his confidence was like his performances, shot to pieces and there seemed no way back.
While Cresswell has been first choice when fit this season, Masuaku has slowly but surely applied pressure when given the chance culminating in a man of the match performance against Bolton in the 3-0 Carabao Cup win last time out.
Masuaku marked the game with a stunning first ever goal for the East Londoners.
But it was his all round game which has had social media and online forums buzzing with debate since.
That’s because it comes off the back of a terrible performance from Cresswell in the 0-0 draw at West Bromwich Albion.
The Liverpudlian was chastised by supporters for a terrible display of crossing where he failed time and again to pick out a West Ham player despite having the likes of Andy Carroll to aim for.
Supporters are torn over who should start against Spurs on Saturday with Masuaku’s skill going forward a consideration given Bilic’s recent switch to a three at the back with wing backs.
