West Ham United star Manuel Lanzini will miss the World Cup and could be out until 2019 after injuring his ACL in training with Argentina.
West Ham have brought in Manuel Pellegrini and are looking to splash the cash this summer according to co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold.
But a number of their players have also been linked with moves away including Marko Arnautovic, Declan Rice and star playmaker Manuel Lanzini.
Hammers fans are desperate to keep hold of the trio, though, and want to see an exciting team built around them.
They have received a bitter blow, though, after it emerged Lanzini has injured his Anterior Cruiciate Ligament in pre-World Cup training with Argentina and will be out for around six months.
While that will be devastating news for West Ham and indeed Argentina, for whom he had been shining in recent games, Hammers fans are trying to take the positives from a bad situation saying the injury means he won’t be sold.
West Ham fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the major news and while most were obviously upset, some saw the fact it would mean Lanzini stays in East London as a silver lining.
Lanzini has been linked with a move to Liverpool.
And now Hammers fans are calling on the club’s co-owners Sullivan and Gold to step up and make good on their promises by signing targets such as Javier Pastore and Felipe Anderson to fill the void left by Lanzini.
