West Ham co-chairman backs Richard Scudamore.

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has infuriated supporters by backing a controversial payment to outgoing Premier League chairman Richard Scudamore.
Scudamore is set to earn £5 million as a ‘farewell gift’, BBC Sport reported.
West Ham are one of the clubs who have made a financial contribution towards Scudamore’s ‘golden handshake’.
David Gold was approached for comment by BBC Sport’s Dan Roan and did not shy away from the issue.
He said Scudamore deserves the ‘appropriate’ payment and hit out at critics.
Gold’s comments are out of touch with supporters and have drawn an angry response.
He and co-owner David Sullivan have at times had a fractious relationship with the club’s own fans and this does not make them look good.

This was a chance for the Hammers to take a moral stand against a needless payment to a rich individual, when the money could have been better spent elsewhere.
Here is a look at how West Ham fans responded to Gold’s comments…
