West Ham United made it two wins from two in the Europa League this season as they beat Rapid Vienna 2-0 on Thursday night with Ben Johnson shining.

The Hammers beat Dinamo Zagreb 2-0 in their first game earlier this month.

Against Rapid Vienna, they repeated the trick with the same scoreline.

Declan Rice put West Ham in front on Thursday night before Said Benrahma added a second late on.

With two wins from two, four goals scored and two clean sheets, West Ham boss David Moyes must be delighted.

Ben Johnson makes an impact for West Ham

With Vladimir Coufal and Ryan Fredericks both unavailable, Moyes had to go with Ben Johnson at right back.

The 21-year-old isn’t exactly a stranger to the West Ham team, but he has played just one minute in the Premier League this season.

Johnson impressed last night, recording one key pass, two aerials won, one successful dribble, three tackles, two interceptions and three clearances.

Johnson is in the final year of his West Ham contract, and fans appear to absolutely love him.

West Ham fans react

Hammers supporters raved about Johnson, suggesting that the club could have a real player on their hands.

Others think that Johnson appears ‘something special’ for West Ham after a ‘brilliant’ performance.

Some called on West Ham to give Johnson a new deal, believing he has a big future with the club.
