With Michail Antonio linked with Chelsea, how far do West Ham fans think their fan favourite can go in the game?
After a stuttering start to the 16/17 Premier League campaign, West Ham United haven’t had the easiest of Januarys. After having multiple bids rejected for their top targets, the Hammers then suffered a huge blow when star midfielder Dimitri Payet decided his time at the London Stadium was up. Sitting tenth in the Premier League, the season is far from over for the Hammers, as they look to gather some ground on those European places.
But it’s not all been doom and gloom for Slaven Bilic. Once again this season, some of his most hard-working individuals have continued to progress and improve, proving that the Hammers are anything but a one-man team. One of these players in question, is the former Nottingham Forest winger Michail Antonio. Under Bilic’s many systems, Antonio has been employed as a striker, right-winger and right-back, proving what a versatile and multi-talented player he is.
This versatility has brought much attention, so will West Ham be able to keep hold of him? Should West Ham sell for the right price? We asked Hammers fans this and more…

“We’ve got to keep hold of him” said one West Ham United fan, “he’s done really well. He’s a bit of a journeymen, he’s had quite a number of clubs, but we’ve got to keep hold of him.”
“He will be the next Gareth Bale” added another West Ham supporter, who clearly rates the former Forest and Sheffield Wednesday midfielder very highly. “I think he’ll probably get to 20 caps in his England career” added another, with many West Ham fans expressing a keen interest in keeping the winger at the club.
“If we’re asking for £30 million for Payet, who only does it now and then, then we’ve got to be asking for upwards of £30-35 million for Antonio” mentioned one West Ham United fan, who appears to rate the England midfielder above Payet. If West Ham United’s ownership are thinking along the same lines, clubs like Chelsea – who were linked with him by the Sun earlier this month – could be in for a real battle if they want to prize the wide-man away from the London Stadium.
