A summer of discontent is brewing at West Ham United after a torrid season which may yet end in the disaster of relegation.

West Ham fans are not happy with David Sullivan, David Gold and vice-chairman Karren Brady over what they feel are broken promises since the club’s move to the former Olympic Stadium.

The Hammers have endured another turbulent season and despite seemingly turning a corner several times under David Moyes they are still not out of the woods, hitting poor form at the worst possible time.

West Ham are just three points above the bottom three with three games to go and have the worst defensive record in the Premier League.

Another season of bitter disappointments on and off the pitch have taken their toll on West Ham’s loyal supporters, 52,000 of whom purchased season tickets at their new London Stadium home for consecutive seasons – second behind only Manchester United.

That frustration spilled over in ugly scenes during the 3-0 defeat to Burnley back in March.

And while fans have parked their issues to support the team’s efforts to secure safety, they will be coming to the fore once the season ends.

Now the West Ham United Independent Supporters Association has announced a new United Campaign for Change.

At the group’s last committee meeting, it was decided by majority vote of members attending that a targeted, small scale campaign should be launched, ‘aimed at facilitating constructive and lasting change at the club’.

In an update sent to members, WHUISA its first course of action will be to launch a formal petition with the intention of presenting it to co-owner David Sullivan at meeting to be arranged post season.

Whether that meeting will bear any fruit for fans in their quest to see the club run in the way the believe it should be remains to be seen.

But supporters will be encouraged to see the fan group keeping the pressure on the unpopular owners to force them to make major changes this summer, hopefully still as a Premier League club.
