West Ham are weighing up a January transfer for Marcos Senesi amid their defensive injury crisis but Tottenham and Newcastle may battle for the Feyenoord star, according to 90min.
David Moyes wants the Irons to sign a centre-half in the January sales after losing Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma. The Italian suffered a likely campaign-ending cruciate ligament injury, while the Frenchman could miss around three-months with a hamstring problem.
Their issues have depleted the Hammers’ ranks to leave Issa Diop and Craig Dawson as the only senior centre-back options. They have also accelerated Moyes’ plans to strengthen in the position, having already had West Ham’s scouts seeking possible targets.

West Ham are now among a clutch of European teams interested in a transfer for Senesi. But Newcastle and Tottenham, plus Aston Villa, Leeds and Manchester United, have also scouted the Feyenoord enforcer in recent months.
Serie A sides Roma and Napoli have also contacted Feyenoord to sound out if Senesi will be available next month. Barcelona, too, made an enquiry for the 24-year-old earlier this year.
Will Feyenoord sell West Ham, Tottenham and Newcastle transfer target Senesi?
Feyenoord would be reluctant to sell West Ham, Tottenham and Newcastle transfer target Senesi. The Eredivisie outfit are working on extending the defender’s contract, which is due to expire in 2024. But could struggle due to the Argentine’s 2022 World Cup aspirations.
Senesi hopes to make Lionel Scaloni’s Albiceleste squad for the Qatar tournament, but is yet to earn a single call-up. The Concordia-born talent also only featured in one U23s game.
The ex-San Lorenzo prospect may see a move to the Premier League, Serie A or La Liga as a route to his Argentina bow. So, with 18-months on his deal, Feyenoord may have to sell.

Should Moyes, Conte or Howe sign Senesi in January?
Senesi has fascinated a raft of possible transfer suitors including West Ham, Tottenham and Newcastle with his efforts at Feyenoord, where 90min note fans call him ‘The Gladiator’.
Scouts also descend on the Feyenoord Stadium almost every week to see the Argentine in action. He is fast emerging as one of the Dutch top-flight’s brightest defenders, as well.
So, depending on Feyenoord’s valuation, Senesi could be an attractive transfer option for West Ham, Tottenham or Newcastle in January.
