West Ham United are expected to launch a bid for Denis Zakaria today but they will be short of the asking price.

Juventus are anticipating a West Ham United bid for Denis Zakaria today but they are seeking more money.

That is according to a report from Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, who claims that West Ham will make their first official offer for Zakaria.

Di Marzio claims that Juventus expect the offer to arrive today as West Ham seek to land the Swiss international.

West Ham will allegedly put €18million (£15.5million) on the table – but Juventus are seeking more.

Juve want around €25million (£21.5million), meaning there is a small gap of around £6million to be bridged.

A compromise is expected and West Ham will know that Juventus are desperate to offload Zakaria.

The move to Italy just hasn’t worked out for Zakaria and Juventus are looking to bring in a new midfielder in Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

West Ham will know that Juve want to raise funds for that move and will surely stick to their guns rather than meet the higher demands.

West Ham target Denis Zakaria may love another Premier League chance

Zakaria was a star in the Bundesliga and seemed destined to shine whenever he left Borussia Monchengladbach.

After some promising signs at Juventus follow a January 2022 move, Zakaria was farmed out on loan to Chelsea in August.

That move was a relative disaster as Zakaria started just five Premier League games in a difficult season.

The Blues have unsurprisingly decided not to sign Zakaria permanently and his future is up in the air.

West Ham could pounce and may see Zakaria as a player they can get back on track.

Zakaria still has plenty in the tank at 26 and has previously excelled as a box-to-box midfielder.

Settling down with West Ham could be very appealing to Zakaria after a difficult 18-month period – and he could help fill the gap being left by Declan Rice.
