The Hammers have been unlucky this season with injury.

West Ham United have been somewhat unlucky with injury this season and that could see Manuel Pellegrini give his young stars a chance in the coming matches – and Moses Makasi and Dan Kemp will be hoping their returns give them a chance.

Manuel Lanzini, Andriy Yarmolenko, Carlos Sanchez and Winston Reid are sidelined with long-term injuries, while Jack Wilshere, Andy Carroll and Pedro Obiang remain in the physio room.

The lengthy injury list has seen Pellegrini hand chances to the likes of Conor Coventry, Grady Diangana and Joe Powell all getting a chance of late. Diangana even scored twice against Macclesfield, and gained sub appearances against Man United and Tottenham.

Now, Makasi and Kemp will be hoping they can join that list after confirming on social media that they have returned from injury to take part in the Under-23 side against Swansea City on Sunday.

Makasi has been sidelined with a knee injury for around six months before returning against Swansea on Sunday, while winger Kemp was out of action for almost a year before Sunday’s return.

With Sanchez, Obiang and Wilshere sidelined, central midfielder Makasi could be eyed as possible cover for Declan Rice and captain Mark Noble, while Yarmolenko’s recent injury could give a chance to Kemp.
