Slaven Bilic says he expected worse when West Ham defender James Collins got injured.

West Ham defender James Collins could be out for a month after injuring his ankle, as reported by the Evening Standard.
The 34-year-old is one of the key players for Slaven Bilic, who played a significant role in the Hammer’s defensive improvements in recent matches.
After conceding 10 goals in their first three league games, West Ham have kept back to back clean sheets against Huddersfield Town and West Bromwich Albion respectively.

Needless to say, his absence will be a massive blow for the West Ham boss.
Collins picked up the injury in the first half against West Brom, but was replaced after half-time.
Bilic said in the pre-match press conference ahead of the EFL Cup clash against Bolton Wanderers that he expects Collins to be out for a few weeks.

The Hammers boss added that the situation is “not ideal”, but that he expected worse.
“It looked worse, could have been a few months but it’s only going to be a few weeks. He done the scan, it is not ideal of course, but I expected worse to be fair,” said Bilic, as quoted by Football London.
Collins is certain to miss Saturday’s Premier League clash against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, and could miss action against Swansea as well.
