West Ham United defender Aaron Cresswell has lifted the lid on an amazing stat he was told about Middlesbrough star Adama Traore.
Hammers favourite Cresswell came face to face with the man on everyone’s lips on Teeside when the East Londoners beat Aitor Karanka’s side 3-1 last time out.
Former Aston Villa and Barcelona winger Traore has been linked with a big move to title favourites Chelsea after some scintillating displays this season, as reported by the likes of Sky Sports.
Middlesbrough’s Adama Traore
The powerhouse has turned heads with his pace and skill since his move to the Riverside and he created Boro’s goal against the Hammers when he beat Cresswell before setting up Stuani at the far post.
Traore was arguably one of the best players on the pitch, switching flanks to have a run at left-back Cresswell and right back Sam Byram.
And afterwards Cresswell revealed an amazing stat about the 20-year-old Spaniard on the club’s official website which was relayed to him by a West Ham performance analyst.

“Yea he is (very sharp), me and Sam (Byram) have just been laughing about it, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone move so quick on a pitch,” Cresswell told whufc.com.
“One of our analysts just told us he has recorded the fastest speed in the (history of the) Premier League. He’s certainly unorthodox to stop with his speed but I thought we defended well at times.”
Previously the likes of Tottenham Hotspur’s Gareth Bale and Arsenal’s Carl Jenkinson – while on loan at West Ham – have topped the speed charts on the pitch.
Indeed West Ham’s own Michail Antonio would be there or thereabouts although he offers much more of a goal threat and end product that Traore does currently.
But now there is a new king of speed in the Premier League and he’s going to take some stopping.
