How is West Ham loanee Toni Martinez faring in Spain?

West Ham supporters had hoped the appointment of David Moyes would lead to young striker Toni Martinez finally getting his breakthrough at the club.
The opposite happened, and Martinez is further away from the first team than ever.
He was sent out on loan to Spanish side Real Valladolid.
Some could argue he is in the best place, far away from the troubles currently engulfing the club on and off the pitch.
But his spell in Spain is doing him few favours.
Toni Martinez, 20, is not getting a chance to play for Valladolid, who sit in ninth place in Spain’s second division.

He has made only three appearances, of which one was a start, and the trajectory is not great; in March he has just been used as a sub once and that’s it.
Martinez has done himself few favours with his opportunities, he has no goals to his name but has still managed to pick up three yellow cards.

Perhaps quite simply he is not ready for first team football in Spain or England, but it seems Valladolid are the wrong club for him.
It is proving a bit of a pointless venture for West Ham and Martinez, and the feeling his development has been mismanaged goes on.
