West Ham United are expected to announce the signing of exciting Manchester City winger Carlos Borges very soon.

Carlos Borges is on the verge of completing his move from Manchester City to West Ham United.

That is according to Sky Sports, who claim that West Ham’s deal to sign Borges is now ‘as good as done’.

West Ham have made Borges a key target and confirmation of his arrival is now ‘expected soon’.

Fabrizio Romano reported last week that West Ham had struck a ‘verbal agreement’ to sign Borges.

It was suggested that a deal worth around £14million with a buy-back clause included was heading towards completion.

Claims from the London Evening Standard last week suggested that Borges had snubbed interest from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Bundesliga duo Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt were also rejected with Borges seemingly focusing on a move to West Ham.

Hammers fans have been concerned about the progress of this deal with no confirmation arriving so far this week.

Sky seem confident that the deal will be announced soon enough though with West Ham closing in on Borges.

Carlos Borges an exciting signing for West Ham United

Borges has never played a senior game for City, so £14million may seem like quite a hefty price tag.

However, the former Sporting youngster was simply ridiculous in the City ranks last season.

Borges hit 29 goals and 18 assists in 33 games for City at development level, causing absolute mayhem down the left flank.

The 19-year-old has blistering pace and his end product in the City ranks was hugely impressive too.

West Ham don’t really have anybody quite like Borges, a natural wide man with the pace to terrify defenders.

Borges will of course need to adjust his game and develop in the Premier League but West Ham will believe that they have a future star on their hands.
