West Ham United should seriously consider a summer swoop for Bayer Leverkusen’s Javier Hernandez.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic has a lot of work to do to get the West Ham faithful back on side, as do the board for that matter, after the disastrous player recruitment drive in the summer of 2016.
They must learn from those errors, and make signings of genuine quality this time around, if they are to build a squad capable of fighting for the Europa League spots come what May.
One area where the Croatian must address as a matter of priority is the forward department, and he should consider a move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Javier Hernandez.

The Mexican made the move to the Bundesliga from Manchester United in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be in the region of £7.3 million, and his value must have at least doubled since then, despite the fact that he is two years older, after a series of stellar displays.
The 29-year-old is one of the most clinical finishers in the game, and his record of 39 goals in 76 outings for Leverkusen highlights his goal scoring prowess.
The 91-capped Mexico international has proven his quality at the highest level over a sustained period of time, having spent spells at United, Real Madrid on loan and now Leverkusen.

He is renowned for making tireless runs in behind the opposition defence into the channels, and that combined with the ruthless nature of his finishing when in and around the penalty area would mean that he could offer the Hammers something entirely different to what they currently possess.
Chicarito is under contract at the BayArena until the summer of 2018, so unless he agrees a new deal with he German outfit, he may very well be able to be picked up on the cheap this summer.
And West Ham should not hesitate to make an approach for the clinical hitman.
