When West Brom fans consider the pivotal moments that cost their side promotion last season, it is likely that many will look back to Harvey Barnes being recalled from his loan spell in January, with the youngster arguably proving the Baggies’ most exciting player during the first-half of the season.

Barnes scored nine goals and contributed six assists in the Championship, and his absence was definitely felt as West Brom ultimately lost out in the play-offs.

And unfortunately for Slaven Bilic’s men, it appears that they may have prepare themselves for history repeating itself should West Ham have a clause allowing them to bring Grady Diangana back to the London Stadium when the next window opens.

Football London claimed when the Baggies’ interest was initially reported that West Ham would ensure that there was a recall clause included in the deal – presumably, allowing Manuel Pellegrini to perhaps send him elsewhere if he does not play enough during his time at the Hawthorns.

However, with just three appearances under his belt, it appears that the Hammers may have to seriously consider whether Diangana can have a role to play for the first-team during the second-half of the campaign.

He bagged a brace on his league debut for West Brom, and looks to have the potential to be the kind of game-changer that is going to become more and more important for Bilic’s side as the season continues.

The 21-year-old already looks much more like the player who burst onto the scene during the early stages of last season. He has the confidence and the skill to glide past Championship full-backs with relative ease, and was unlucky not to bag his first assist at the weekend as he created a brilliant chance for Jake Livermore.

West Ham have a lot of quality in attacking areas, and that may help West Brom if the Irons do have the opportunity to recall Diangana. But the early signs certainly suggest that the Premier League side are definitely going to have a decision to make when the January window opens.
