Reports in Italy suggest that West Ham could complete a loan deal for Inter forward Ishak Belfodil by the end of the day.
Despite competition from Serie A side Sassuolo, West Ham are in pole position to add Inter talent Ishak Belfodil to their ranks, according to the Italian media.
West Ham are expected to bring in several new faces during the transfer window as Sam Allardyce’s men face a relegation dogfight.
A 5-0 humiliation at the hands of Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup highlighted the lack of strength in Allardyce’s second string and will only have accelerated their transfer activity.
The East London club have been watching Inter’s Belfodil for a while and they appear to lead the pack of clubs aiming to secure a loan swoop.
If Inter feel all their stipulations have been met, Belfodil would then travel to London to complete a medical and begin training with his new squad.
Serie A minnows Sassuolo have reportedly attempted to buy a half share of Belfodil for around £3m, but sources suggest that Inter are keen to keep all the rights to the player and are happier with West Ham’s terms which don’t offer first refusal for a permanent deal.
