The next chapter of Harry Kane’s career after leaving Tottenham is proving to be tougher than he thought.

At the age of 30, and now trying to win trophies at Bayern Munich, you feel a return to Tottenham will never be on the cards.

But Kevin Nolan thinks the player in question will return to the Premier League one day, just not to Spurs.

Not because Tottenham wouldn’t want him, but the West Ham United coach just doesn’t think Harry Kane suits Ange Postecoglou’s style of play, as he told talkSPORT.

Added to that, he feel the England captain would ‘block’ off someone like James Maddison.

The £40 million man is the playmaker now in this Champions League-chasing side and he is doing a very good job of it.

On top of scoring goals, that’s something Harry Kane would do at Hotspur Way and it’s a reason why he became one of the best players in the world.

Harry Kane returning to Tottenham

“He is such a fabulous footballer, it would be a shame if he didn’t win one (a trophy),” said Nolan.

“I wouldn’t want him to win a trophy at Tottenham – I can certainly see him back in the Premier League.

“When I look at him, I think he is scoring goals, he looks fantastic, still playing in a top team and is playing in the Champions League. Would I be surprised if he stayed another year to actually win the league with Bayern Munich, because I actually feel, if he does come back, and scored all them goals, he will probably feel like he failed himself.

“I think the way Tottenham play and want to sort of be really agile and quick up front with Maddison, he will probably block off Maddison, so I think it suits them to have more people who can get in behind. So, it will probably be a little difficult for them.”

Life without Harry Kane

You have to praise Postecoglou for how he has dealt with losing Kane, and at such a crucial stage of the summer.

It all came days before the season started, which for many, would take them off track, but not for the new boss in the dugout.

Not only are Spurs playing a free-flowing style of play, but they are also scoring goals for fun and pushing for Champions League football.

A huge game on Sunday awaits them at Villa Park because three points for the away team, then they will feel destiny is in their hands when it comes to finishing in the top-four places.
