Stuart Pearce has labelled Arsenal and Tottenham transfer target, Raheem Sterling, as a ‘sensational’ player.

The West Ham coach added on talkSPORT that there will be ‘a lot of takers’ for Sterling if he leaves Manchester City this summer.

Tottenham and Arsenal are seen as two clubs who are keen to add the 27-year-old to their ranks – Sterling’s current deal at the Etihad expires next summer.

For Sterling, it seems as though he wants to earn more minutes, after scoring 13 goals in 30 Premier League games this season, including supplying six assists.

For Man City, they either pen him down to a new deal or sell him for a fee this summer, as Pearce shared his thoughts on the player.

“I think with Raheem, it’s unbelievable that he’s still 27 with the experience and how well he has done, for both club and country,” said Pearce.

“He will go where he thinks his next personal challenge is. He might want to go abroad. There will be a lot of takers for him.

“He has been sensational and added goals over the last five years. Before that, you thought ‘maybe he doesn’t score as much for the chances that are created’.

“Listen, he has won most things at Manchester City. If he wants to stay at Manchester City, then they would be foolish not to keep him.”

STERLING SHOULD BE PLAYING FOR A CLUB IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

If Sterling does indeed leave Manchester City, then he has to join a club already in the Champions League.

That rules out Arsenal because they missed out on fourth spot in the Premier League to their bitter rivals Tottenham and will be playing Europa League football instead.

The question then needs to be asked, would Sterling leave the Etihad for a club like Spurs, who whilst they have Champions League football, they aren’t exactly renowned to win trophies.

Either way, a big summer awaits the versatile Englishman, who won his fourth Premier League title in Man City colours last week.
