The former striker has helped the Hammers’ current front men find their form in front of goal.
West Ham United first-team coach Ian Hendon believes Teddy Sheringham’s experience has helped him make a real difference at the club this season.
Sam Allardyce’s side look a different outfit to the one that struggled in the Premier League last term – largely thanks to a new-found attacking impetus.
And Hendon believes new forward coach Sheringham has had a real impact in that department.
“I think all you need to do is look at the two lads upfront. Diafra’s already scored five in the league and Enner’s added a couple as well. So from that point of view you’d say definitely the new signings have been the biggest single difference,” the first-team coach told West Ham’s official website.
“Teddy’s obviously getting the plaudits because the strikers are doing so well at the moment. He does a lot of finishing work with the players on a Thursday and Friday. At the moment the strikers are looking sharp so long may that continue. Teddy is obviously a very experienced player, he’s played at the top level and the players certainly have a lot of respect for him.”
