West Ham coach praises youngster Amadou Diallo.

Young West Ham winger Amadou Diallo was singled out for praise by coach Jack Collison after the club’s FA Youth Cup match.

West Ham crashed out of the under-18s competition on penalties to Brighton and Hove Albion after a 1-1 draw.

Diallo was West Ham’s goalscorer, scoring as early as the sixth minute.

The 15-year-old was described by West Ham’s official website as ‘electric’, while Collison had more praise for the winger.

He said: “Amadou Diallo, for a schoolboy, for an U16 to go and play like that was just incredible.”

Collison also picked out goalkeeper Serine Sanneh and left-back Jayden Fevrier for their displays.

Going out of the Youth Cup at this early stage is an obvious disappointment for the Hammers, who won the competition back in 1999.

The experience of playing in a cup competition is always beneficial to young players and West Ham’s prospects will learn from it.

Diallo is a long way from the first team, but he is a name West Ham fans may want to watch out for over the next couple of seasons.
