West Ham United have been linked with making a move for Everton midfielder Tom Davies.

The Mirror suggested that Allardyce would be willing to consider bids for a number of his players – though it was not clear whether Davies was one of the players that he would think about cashing in on this month. But while Irvine admitted that he was impressed by the 19-year-old – who he worked with during his time as a coach at Everton – he claimed that no bid had been made.

It would certainly be a major shock if Davies was allowed to leave the Toffees this month, even if his form has probably not been quite as impressive this season.
The teenager is one of the best prospects coming through at a club where they seem to continually bring promising youth players out of their academy. And while Allardyce may still be waiting to get the best out of him, selling him to a top flight rival – if West Ham do end up making a bid and are successful – would surely be a huge mistake.
