West Ham United booked their place in the EFL Cup semi-finals with a 2-1 win over Chelsea at the London Stadium this evening.
West Ham deserved the result after a ropey performance from Chelsea and got it courtesy of goals from a Cheikhou Kouyate header and a goal from their young Swiss star Edimilson Fernandes.
The 20-year-old summer signing from FC Sion has had to bide his time for first-team football at the club but has certainly taken his chance recently.

He impressed at the weekend against Sunderland in the Premier League and his first goal for West Ham today will have been a welcome moment indeed.
It even earned praise from his chairman. David Gold sent this tweet to the Swiss starlet, letting him know just what he thought of his effort:
Fernandes looks like a talent that was certainly worth the investment Gold and co provided in the summer and the hope will be that he can develop into a long-term West Ham first-team player.
Tonight will hopefully be just the first of many goals he manages for the club.
