David Gold has shared a special birthday message with West Ham United striker Andy Carroll this morning, as he hopes his club’s striker can knock Manchester City out of the FA Cup this evening.
West Ham face Manchester City in the FA Cup third round this evening at the London Stadium and will be hoping to put an end to their current streak of two defeats on the bounce.

It just so happens the game falls on Carroll’s 28th birthday and the big striker has been urged to celebrate with a goal tonight by his chairman:
Carroll has struggled with injury throughout the 2015-16 season, but is now back fit and looking to start hitting the back of the net regularly again.

Considering the defensive frailties that Manchester City have, especially if Claudio Bravo starts in goal, Carroll will fancy his chances of getting the better of the City players if he performs to a high enough standard.
Gold will undoubtedly hope so, as will his manager Slaven Bilic, as West Ham need a reason to be cheerful this season.
