West Ham United co-owner David Gold has taken to Twitter to help settle the debate with Arsenal over Dimitri Payet and Mesut Ozil.
West Ham and France’s Dimitri Payet
The two stars have sparked a long running argument between fans of the Hammers and Gunners over who is the better player.
West Ham‘s new hero carried on his dazzling form from his debut Premier League season when he helped France to the final of Euro 2016 over the summer.
Payet made the team of the tournament and helped the hosts beat Ozil’s Germany on the way to the final.

The Hammers man sparkled in his new-found role of the key man in Didier Deschamps’ side.
In the song West Ham fans sing about their hero, they claim he’s better than the great Zinedine Zidane. And he has not shrunk under such lofty praise.

But Gunner Ozil has been pushing the West Ham hero all the way for the mantle of the league’s best attacking midfielder.
He also joined Payet on the PFA Player of the Year shortlist last season.
The debate between West Ham and Gunners fans over their star men intensified after Arsenal supporters started using the Payet song changing the words for Ozil.

And now Hammers co-owner Gold has entered the debate, taking to social networking site Twitter to post out statistics which once again put Payet well ahead of his Arsenal rival.
The French playmaker topped the charts for the most accurate crosses in the Premier League in 2016, some 17 clear of the next best, Ozil.
Both were way ahead of Chelsea star Willian (37) and Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen (32) while James McClean was level with the Dane.
