West Ham United are ready to ramp up their interest in Chelsea striker Armando Broja – and see him as a more realistic target than Darwin Nunez.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that West Ham have put Broja ‘high’ on their list of potential signings this summer.
Broja has impressed on loan at Southampton this season and David Moyes now wants to bring him to East London.
West Ham will have to wait until Chelsea takeover from Todd Boehly goes through, but the Blues face a decision over Broja.
Whilst Broja has huge potential, his path to first-team football at Chelsea could be difficult. Even Tammy Abraham had to leave the Blues last summer, and Broja isn’t quite at his level.
Becoming a star man may be appealing to Broja, who is already excelling on the international stage with Albania.
Just last week, former West Ham defender Anton Ferdinand urged the Hammers to go and sign Broja.
Ferdinand called Broja ‘exciting and ‘very powerful’, seemingly feeling that he is the ideal competition for Michail Antonio in attack.
Arsenal have though registered their interest in signing Broja as they look to engineer a shock raid on their London rivals.

The animosity between those two clubs may give West Ham hope of a deal, but there will be many other clubs keen.
The report adds that West Ham see Broja as a more realistic striker signing than Benfica star Darwin Nunez.
West Ham explored a January deal for Nunez but he has gone on to a different level since then, with some reports claiming that he may cost as much as £109million this summer.
That fee is obviously beyond West Ham and even if Moyes would love to sign him, it’s very unlikely to happen now.
Broja makes more sense for the Hammers, but they will face a battle convincing Chelsea to sell and then tempting Broja to pick them.
