The West Ham United man is a big fan of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.
West Ham United’s Mark Noble
Hammers star Mark Noble sat down for an exclusive interview with European football journalist Graham Hunter, and raved about the quality of Man United and England striker Wayne Rooney, sharing how annoyed he gets when people criticise the 31-year-old.
Rooney is the record goalscorer for both the Red Devils and the Three Lions, yet he seems to receive more criticism than others when his form slightly drops off.
And Noble explained the admiration he has for the United frontman, when speaking on Graham Hunter’s Big Interview podcast, labelling Rooney as phenomenal:
“Sometimes I wind myself up so much over things like when he gets publicly slated by the press. People could never ever do what he’s done. Everyone has an opinion but to play at the level he’s played at and done what’s done such as the goals he has scored for Manchester United, he’s just phenomenal.”
Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney
Rooney has enjoyed a quite incredible career so far. He has scored 320 goals in 743 appearances for Everton, Man United and England combined.
He has won five Premier League titles, and has a Champions League winners medal to his name, along with an FA Cup and two League Cups.
Yet he is still pilloried for some strange reason.
Over the years, Rooney has proven to be the player who fans love to hate, but after Noble’s comments, he will be safe in the knowledge that at least his peers respect him for the truly great player he is.
