West Ham United have endured a bitterly disappointing campaign.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference, and shared how he has analysed the remaining fixture schedules of all the clubs in and around them in the league, as quoted by the club’s official website.
West Ham earned a massive three points against Swansea City last weekend, and head to Wearside on Saturday to take on Sunderland, for what will be another must-win encounter.
Incredibly, three points against the Black Cats for the East London outfit could take them back inside the top 10, should other results go their way, and all but secure their Premier League status for another season.
And Bilic highlighted the importance of reaching the 40 point mark (they are currently on 36), before his side can even contemplate setting other targets, whilst admitting he has kept an eye on the fixtures that await those clubs considered to be in the relegation dog-fight, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“I have had a look at the schedules for all the clubs and most of them have similar schedules, playing two or three games against the clubs either near you or below you, and two or three games against the top six or seven clubs. We are in no different a situation and now we have the game against Sunderland is going to be extremely hard, like every game is, but it is an opportunity for us to come closer to safety and get some points.”
Despite the woeful performances from most of the Hammers’ players this season, Bilic still has the opportunity to guide his side to a top 10 finish, with just one point separating themselves and 10th placed Watford.
However, with games against Everton, Tottenham and Liverpool on the horizon, that will be easier said than done.
