West Ham United were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Arsenal last night.

Hammers boss David Moyes addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s disappointing defeat to the Gunners in the quarter final of the Carabao Cup last night, and insisted that he is in a more difficult position than his counterpart Arsene Wenger, as quoted by popular football news website Football.London.
West Ham have been on a fine run of form of late, taking seven points from their last three league games, but they failed to carry that form on into the Carabao Cup last night, losing 1-0 to an under-strength Arsenal side at the Emirates.
Moyes fielded a fairly strong side against the north Londoners, ahead of what will be a vitally important home game against Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Scot chose to highlight the fact that he had to call upon so many of his first-team stars as a huge difference between him and Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, as quoted by Football.London:

“Arsenal have the squad to make 11 changes and they are in the position to do it. If I could I would have done it too. I think with the way the Premier League is, it is the most important thing for all the teams. We put out a strong team, what was available to us but we have got big games coming up as well and arguably, I am in a more difficult position than Arsene Wenger.”
Moyes will be hoping that the players who started the game at the Emirates recover in time when the Magpies head to the London Stadium on Saturday, where a win could see them climb as high as 12th in the table.
